Udupi, Apr 1: Students belonging to Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad on Friday April 1 protested against the state government and the PU department, a day after the question paper of second PU chemistry exam leaked for a second time.
The protestors, asserting that they would not write the exam again, burnt photocopies of their hall tickets to drive them their point.
The students who gathered at the Clock Tower to hold the protest said that irresponsibility of the PU deparment was to be blamed for the situation.
"PU Board director Pallavi Akurathi has said that the question papers leaked in Bengaluru and Tumakuru. All irresponsible officers should be expelled immediately for the lapse.
"The question paper leaked a few days ago also but no one was arrested, and now it has happened again. It is big shame," they said.
Demanding the resignation of education minister Kimmane Ratnakar, they said, "Kimmane Ratnakar is hopeless. He should tender his resignation on moral grounds or he should be expelled by the chief minister. All officers responsible for the mess should be ousted.
"If our demand is not met, we will go on hunger strike," they warned.
State ABVP member Chaitra, Sriraj, Vijaykrishna Acharya, Srikanth Bhat, Sumedha Kamath, Rajesh Gurani and others were part of the protest.
