Kundapur: Student dies after accidentally slipping into waterfall near Byndoor

Kundapur, Apr 10: In a tragic incident, a student drowned at Koosalli Falls near Byndoor here on Sunday April 10 after he accidentally fell during trekking.

The deceased has been identified as Prasad Amin (22), a final year BCA student of MGM College, Udupi.

It is learnt that as part of their annual excursion, a group of about 70 NSS students of MGM College went to Koosalli Falls in Toodalli near Byndoor here on Sunday. Prasad and some of his friends sat atop a boulder under which the water flows. As the boulder was covered in moss, it was slippery.

Prasad who was on the boulder accidentally slipped due to the moss and fell into the water below. His friends tried their best to rescue him, but ulimately, Prasad got pullled away by the water and got stuck under a boulder, which led to his death, sources said.

Prasad was from Udyavar.

The police who arrived at the spot retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem.

Byndoor police have registered a case.

    Prasad was a good guy, he was like more than a brother to me, i still remember those days which we spent together. For every work we use to call him only, His brothers (Sandeep Amin & Pradeep Amin) had lots of dreams ablout his future. He lost his life due to negligence of MGM college management & staffs. Even Everybody aware of that place how risky it is. Iam feeling so bad for his mom still she is didn't come up with this shock & he is the most lovable person for her among her 3 childrens. She tried a lot to stop him for not to go even he did not got permission from his mom & elder brother(Sandeep Amin), after not getting permission & money from his home he took money from someone els & went for a Trucking. For this incidence i totally blame college management for choosing such a dangerous place where people loss their precious life. I demand Prasad family should get nice compensation from college management.

    So sad to hear about Prasad'd death.He was my junior in MGM College BCA. He was a sweet guy. I still remember him and his friends cheering me during fest and the fun we had at college day. We MGMites are a family and today we have lost a dear member.
    R.I.P friend. May your soul rest in eternal peace. Condolences to Prasad's family, friends and all MGMites.

    RIP. I have noticed most of our picnic spots are too dangerous. There are some spots which are part of the resorts , if something happens even emergency vehicles cannot reachable.
