Kundapur, Apr 19: A youth, whose marriage was to be held shortly, committed suicide on Monday April 18 evening by hanging himself. He revealed about his intention to end his life to a friend by way of mobile message just before his death.

Manjunath Madiwala (32) from Nada village in the taluk committed suicide in this fashion. Reasons which drove him to take this extreme step are not very clear. His body was found hanging from the branch of a tree at a thicket behind his house.

Manjunath was the only son of Chikku Madiwala. He was running a shop at Bengaluru. He had come back to his native place six months ago, and started living with his mother. His marriage was fixed recently, and the function was slated for May 2.

The marriage invitation cards which had been given for printing were supposed to be received by his family on Monday. Manjunath had confided with his close friends about the anxiety to distribute the invites at the earliest. His friends were surprised at the fact that Manjunath had not contacted them till Monday afternoon, and then called him on his cellphone. His mother too was worried at the fact that her son was not to be seen since Monday afternoon.

In the meanwhile, a message received from Manjunath's cellphone to a close friend said that he was facing problem and hence decided to end life. The message requested the friend to console his mother and instill confidence and courage in her after his death.

RIP. No one knows the anxieties he had. Now it is mere speculations. Day by day, psychiatric problems/depression is increasing due to pressures from society, family, economic and work place. Help and understanding is very vital from the close ones.

We at normal circumstances of life cannot even imagine what may be going through in theirs mind who are planning a suicide. What kind of mental situations they must be in. Actually this feeling only they know! I am sure this man might have committed suicide after thinking not less than 200 times about the consequences after his death. We from this side of the tragedy can only pray for his soul & express condolence to the loves ones.
