Bengaluru: Archbishop appoints deacons, ordains priests

Bengaluru, May 6: It was a joyful day for the archdiocese of the city, as archbishop Bernard Moras, conferred five candidates to the order of deacons on May 4. The brothers, studying at three different seminaries, belonging to archdiocese were elevated to order of deacon after completing their third year theological studies.





On May 5, the archbishop ordained eight brothers to the order of priesthood, of which seven deacons belonged to archdiocese of Bengaluru and one deacon belonged to Sons of Divine Providence congregation. On both the days, the mass was celebrated by the archbishop at 10.00 am at St Francis Xavier’s cathedral parish, Cleveland town in the city. Large number of faithful, clergies and religious working in the archdiocese participated in the ordination eucharistic celebration.
