Ajman, May 26: His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Humaid Al-Nuaimi, chairman of the department of economic development, here visited Gulf Medical University (GMU) on Wednesday May 25.
He was welcomed at the University by Thumbay Moideen, founder president of the Board of Governors of GMU, prof Gita Ashok Raj - Pprovost of GMU, Akbar Moideen Thumbay, vice president of the healthcare division of Thumbay Group, Akram Moideen Thumbay, director operations of the construction and renovation division of Thumbay Group, the deans of the colleges under GMU and the members of the administrative team of Thumbay Group.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Humaid Al-Nuaimi visited the ongoing Medical and Science Exhibition (MASE 2016), the biggest annual inter-school medical and science exhibition organized by GMU, and toured the university’s facilities. He was very impressed with the facilities of Gulf Medical University, especially the Centre for Advanced Biomedical Research and Innovation (CABRI), the state-of-the-art research facility of the university, and the Center for Advanced Simulation in Healthcare (CASH).
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Humaid Al-Nuaimi commended Thumbay Moideen for his efforts in leading GMU on the path of continued progress and advancements. Thumbay Moideen presented him with a special memento, as a token of appreciation.
GMU’s MASE 2016 is the biggest annual inter-school medical and science exhibition with a total prize amount of AED 25,000. Prizes will be distributed at a special ceremony on the closing day of the two-day exhibition, on Thursday May 26. Students from over 50 schools are participating in the exhibition, and student visitors are expected to number over 5,000.
Considered the most sought-after private medical university in the region, GMU is presently inviting applications for admissions to its courses including MBBS, BPT, DMD, PharmD as well as Bachelor of Health Sciences and Masters Programmes in various specializations, for the upcoming academic year September 2016 intake.
