Family of driver killed with Afghan Taliban leader demands justice

Islamabad, May 29 (IANS): The family of the taxi driver who was killed with Afghan Taliban chief Akhtar Mansour earlier this month in the US drone strike in Balochistan on Sunday filed a police complaint against the US, demanding justice.

Muhammad Azam was killed in the US drone strike that targeted Mansour near Quetta. He was driving the car the Taliban leader was travelling in.

His family members said Azam, father of four children, was the sole earner in his family.

They called for action against the US officials responsible for the strike.

Muhammad Azam's brother, Muhammad Qasim, filed the first information report (FIR) with police in Noshki district of Quetta, Dawn online reported.

"We want justice," Azam's uncle Haji Khuda-e-Nazar said on Sunday.

"We want to bring the perpetrators of the drone strike to justice. My nephew was innocent and had no links to any terror group."
