Paris, Nov 6: A piece of the Eiffel Tower could dominate your home just like the famous structure looms over the Paris skyline if you’ve got the space and money.

French auction house Drouot is selling a 1,543 lb, 15 foot, section of the tower’s former stairway which linked the second and third floors.

That section of the staircase was dismantled in 1983 when elevators were installed.

The original staircase was cut into 20 smaller sections and sold to museums and private collectors. It is one of the segments Drouot will auction on November 19.

The Eiffel Tower has marked the Paris skyline since it was built in 1889 and the piece is expected to fetch a price of some $43,440, according to David Nordmann, whose agency is handling the sale.

“It’s a real segment of the Eiffel Tower, with the same workmanship, a very original piece,” he said. “If you want to have part of the Eiffel Tower staircase in your house, it’s really very pretty.”
