Bayern consolidate presence in Asia by opening subsidiary in China

Munich, June 15 (IANS): Bayern Munich have announced the opening of an office in Shanghai on September 1, in order to strengthen the presence of the Bavarian football giants in Asia.

In a statement on Tuesday, the club said that the managing director of this new site is Rouven Kasper, who will be responsible for at least six employees.

"I am delighted at the opportunity to take on this exciting and important task for FC Bayern in China and fill it with life," 34-year-old Kasper said.

"My staff and I will invest great energy in building up a network in China, supporting FC Bayern to the best possible extent in achieving the club's targets for this market," he added.

"We will do everything to extend the established and successful local strategy as rapidly as possible, driving forward the club's internationalisation in Asia."

The Bundesliga record champions have headquarters in New York since 2014, where summer tours regularly take place.
