Ponda, Nov 12: Another subway in Goa may come in reality while the existing subways at Navelim and Verna busy roads are still unused.
To tackle the problems of the pedestrians, ever-rising traffic in the city, home minister Ravi Naik, who hails from Ponda constituency, decided to construct a subway here.
According to him the project is in the pipeline and when it will come in reality, it will cater good facility to school children, as they will be able to cross the road through sub way.
There are plans of constructing plastic roads here, but it is still pending in the government files. If this comes true, then Ponda will be the first city in Goa with plastic roads.
National highway passing through Navelim and Verna, was a major problem to pedestrian here. To resolve this problem and to give better service to people, subways were commissioned under MPLAD scheme. However, both of them are unused and have become place of haven for beggars.
