Kolkata, July 7 (IANS): Twelve children were trapped in an abandoned septic tank which collapsed in West Bengal's Malda district on Thursday, with one of them dying later, an official said.
The incident happened near a mosque at Malatipur in the district.
"The children were playing over the abandoned tank when the top caved in. At least 12 children fell inside. All of them were rescued and admitted to a hospital. However, one of them died, apparently due to suffocation," said a fire brigade officer.
