Mangalore, Nov 19: The overall performance of Syndicate bank in the district as well as at the global level is progressive, K U Shanbhag, deputy general manager, regional office, informed media persons at the press conference here on Monday November 19.
The region as on September 30, 2007 has achieved a volume of Rs 2,694 crore profit with fixed deposits of Rs 1,471 crore and advanced loans of Rs 1,223 crore. The region has 82 branches and 1 extension counter. The region has a good mixture of urban, semi-urban and rural branches, to ensure good reach to the customer. In order to facilitate customers, the region has introduced Core Banking Solutions (CBS) in 45 branches and the region has 16 ATMs’ for the convenience of its customers, he added.
The total global business of the bank as on September 30 is Rs 1, 37,333 crore, comprising a customer base of 19 million. The bank has shown overall improvement in both deposits and advances. The deposit was Rs 83, 849 crore and advances Rs 53, 484 crore as on September 30 and the net profit was Rs 449 crore with the capital adequacy ratio of the bank is 19% as on the above referred date, he added.
The bank has a network of 2,136 branches spread over 29 states and four union territories. The bank has 811 of ATMs as on the above referred date, the CBS has been introduced at more than 1603 branches spread across 858 centers accounting for over 92% of the bank's business, the deputy general manager added, while laying stress on national growth.
The pioneering and innovative efforts of the bank, such as Pigmy Plus 2007, Synd Sona, Synd Vidya and Synd Vidyarthi, Synd Jaikisan, Bank- a financial supermarket, online application for loans, account opening through mobile van and corporate social responsibilities initiatives were briefed on the occasion.
