Mangalore, Nov 20: Chairman and CEO of South Indian Bank, V A Joseph, on Monday revealed plans to open a new branch in Mangalore soon.
Speaking to reporters here, Joseph said the bank will open one branch in Mangalore and three others in Bangalore. The three branches will be opened at Jalahalli, Hebbal and Sarjapur in Bangalore. The Jalahalli and Hebbal branches will be functional by December end, he added.
The bank, which has 485 branches now, will add 15 new ones by 2007-end. It will also increase the number of ATMs from 182 to 200 by April next year, he added.
Joseph said the bank has a Hadi Express exchange service at Dubai and Sharjah. The service, wherein a person can deposit money to his Indian account within 30 minutes, has got a good response, he claimed.
In Karnataka, the bank has 25 core banking branches with a total business of above Rs 1,800 crore. The bank has employed 4,000 employees.
