No SC relief for disqualified Uttarakhand rebel Congress MLAs


New Delhi, July 20 (IANS): In a setback to the nine rebel Congress legislators in Uttarakhand, the Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to put on hold their disqualification and bar from attending the assembly session that is beginning on Thursday.

The bench of Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Rohinton Fali Nariman in their order said the outcome of motion of no-confidence against the Speaker would be subject to the outcome of their petitions challenging their disqualification. 

The court directed that the plea of nine disqualified lawmakers will he heard on July 28.
