Udupi: Kargil martyrs remembered on Kargil Vijay Diwas in city

Udupi, Jul 26: The event of winning Kargil war by our defence forces on July 26, 17 years ago is celebrated all over the country as ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’. Retired soldiers in Udupi paid their tributes to the martyred soldiers in the war memorial by offering flowers.

Speaking on the occasion, retired soldier Chandrashekar Suvarna said that love of the country and patriotism today are like old coins.

“People are looking for highly paid jobs and Karnataka has lagged behind in Military service”, he lamented.
