Udupi: Fisheman drowns when conducting fishing activity

Udupi, Jul 29: A fisherman who had been involved with catching fish through country boat drowned near the estuary at Thottam Badanidiyoor, Malpe on Thursday July 28.

Paul D'Silva (57), residing near Thottam church, lost his life in this way. On Thursday afternoon, he was engaged in fishing along with some other fishermen, when he suddenly slipped and fell into the sea.

The other fishermen immediately brought him out of water, but he had breathed his last by then, it is learnt. A report about this incident was filed in Malpe police station.
