Beltangady: ZP CEO, SDO, partake lunch with school children

Beltangady, Jul 29: Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat chief executive officer (CEO), Sree Vidya, and Puttur subdivisional officer (SDO), Dr Rajendra, visited the only residential school in the district meant for children belonging to specific categories under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan located at Muguli here on Thursday July 28. They inspected the school building and partook lunch along with students of the school.

"The residential school has a male strength of 59 and female strength of 36. As against four full time teachers designated for the school, only two are posted. On three days in a week, a teacher is sent on deputation. Accountant, office assistant, warden and assistant cook have been outsourced. Watchman's vacancy remains vacant," explained headmaster of the school, Laxmikanth Bekal.

Town panchayat president, Muguli Narayan Rao, taluk panchayat executive officer, C R Narendra, local block education officer, Sumangala P, and coordinator, Tarakesari, were present.

    Make this a routine every month at any random school without prior information. All the headmasters and mid-day meali staff in all the schools will be on toes. This will boost and inspire the poor students to not out of school. Handsome is that handsome does.
