Army foils infiltration bid, 2 militants, 2 soldiers killed

Srinagar, Jul 30 (PTI): Army today foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Naugam sector of Kashmir's Kupwara district, killing two militants in the operation that also left two soldiers dead.

Troops noticed suspicious movement along the LoC in Naugam sector during the intervening night and challenged the intruders, who opened fire, an army official said.

The soldier returned fire leading to the gunbattle in which two militants were killed, the official said. He said two soldiers were also killed while another was injured in the operation which was going on till last reports came in.

"Two AK rifles, one UBGL and other war-like stores were recovered from the scene of the gunbattle," the official said.

This is second major infiltration bid foiled by the army in Naugam sector this week. Four militants were killed and one was apprehended alive in a failed infiltration bid on July 26.

These infiltration is happening due to breach of security by locals and with their support. We should make Kashmir a cosmopolitan state by allowing all nationals to live in Kashmir. All Kashmiri pandits should be rehabilitated to a seperate colony with security. All soldiers who sacrificed their lives for Kashmir should get a land or a house at Sainik colony. From all the states of India there should be a colony having atleast 500 houses. Donate a stone to build a wall like China/Berlin wall where the infiltration takes place. Stones can be transported by train through our army. How long we can loose precious lives of our brave soldiers?. There should be a ratio of 1:10 not 2:2. What is the point in catching them alive and feed them?.

The performance of our soldier is not encouraging because two soldiers killed by losing two militants reflects really the bad performance

that's right, 2:2 isn't a very encouraging ratio, especially considering our ambition/tall claims/promises to march towards 'superpowerdom'

The operation is going on. The number of militants are not confirmed yet. Two are dead for sure. More will be shown the same fate.
