Udupi: AICS inter-school junior TT tourney held at St Mary’s Kannarpady

Udupi, Jul 30: The inter-school Junior Table Tennis Tournament organized under the banner of association of ICSE and CBSE schools of Udupi and South Canara districts [AICS] was held at St Mary’s English Medium School, Kannarpady on Saturday July 30.

Dr Suresh Shenoy, the famous surgeon and the director of AMCARE Rehabilitation Centre, Manipal was the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony.

Speaking to the participants, he stressed the need of sports and games for the sound growth of body and mind.

He also enlightened the sports persons regarding the history of Table Tennis.

Myrtle LF Lewis the principal of the host school was present on the occasion. Vice-principal Deepa Bhandary proposed the vote of thanks. Physical education teachers Gerald Pinto, Bhaskar and Amitha were the coordinators of the tournament.

Results

Junior Boys category: 1st place- Delhi Public School, MRPL, Mangalore. Runners up: Madhava Krupa English Medium School, Manipal. Junior Girls category: 1st place Delhi Public School, MRPL, Mangalore, Runners up: Little Rock Indian school Brahmavar.
