Kasargod: Student electrocuted when repairing fan

Kasargod, Jul 31: In an unfortunate incident which occurred at Badaje near Manjeshwar in the district on the night of Friday July 29, a student was electrocuted after he suffered shocks when repairing a fan at his home.

Gururaj (21), son of Narayan, residing near Badaje Lord Mahalingeshwara temple, died in the above incident. He was a degree course student of Gokarnanatheshwara College, Kudroli, Mangaluru.

On Friday night, noticing that a ceiling fan at his home was not functional, he was trying to repair it when he suffered electric shocks all of a sudden and was forcefully thrown to the ground. He suffered serious injuries in this incident. He breathed his last when being taken to a hospital, sources said.

Gururaj is survived by parents, a brother, and a large number of relatives.
