Mangaluru, Jul 31: Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) of Karnataka Pradesh observed valedictory ceremony of its 60th year celebration at Sanghanikethan hall here on Sunday July 31. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel inaugurated the valedictory ceremony.
Speaking on this occasion, Nalin Kumar Kateel said, “Nearly 60 years ago, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh was founded by Dattopant Thengadi. BMS is organized on the objectives of nationalism and welfare of labourers. This organization is not about any ‘ism’ but works for national interest and social welfare of the labourers.”
“National interest is the supreme aim along with the interest of workers. BMS also tries to protect and promote the welfare of working class people. This is the difference between the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and Left ideology dominated trade unions,” he said.
Commenting on trade unions dominated by left ideology, Nalin said, “Left ideology trade unions never allowed the industrial growth. These unions were the reason for the closure of industries, hotel sector and others. Because of these left ideology trade unions both the labour and as well the owner came to street. As trade union BMS stands first in entire nation. The industrial growth of Kerala collapsed due to these left ideology based trade unions.”
Speaking about the problems faced by Asha activists, he said, “BMS members have already met Union minister Jagat Prakash Nadda to discuss the matter. Minister has assured to help them.”
Nalin also assured that 12 demands made by BMS in favour of labour class will be fulfilled by the union government.
K Ramakrishna Poonja, deputy in-charge of finance wing BMS said, “In the entire country, BMS is the largest trade union. BMS stands second in entire world as the largest trade unions.

“There are unorganized labourers in various sectors. The government should bring them under organized sector and provide minimum wages and equal justices. Banks should not be privatized,” he added.
