Panaji, Nov 26: Malayam film "Ore Kadal" (The Sea Within) is all set to be released in major Indian metros after its successful participation in the international film festival of India (IFFI) 2007 here in Goa.

Shyamaprasad-directed film which was opening movie for the Indian Panorama's feature film segment in the festival will be released in Mumbai, Delhi and Calcutta, next month.

The film, subtitled in English is already released in South Indian metros Bangalore and Chennai. ``We got a decent response for the film," the director stated.

The film produced by Vindhayan, based on Bengali fiction writer Sunil Gangopadhyay, is set against the social changes brought about by rapid globalization. It revolves around a simple middle class homemaker (Meera Jasmine) and free-spirited economist (Mammootty).

"We are leaving it to chance," the director said stating that investment to the tune of Rs five lakh will be going for the promotion and prints of the film at each centre.

"It is necessary to promote the film before it is released in the metros," he said.

Shyamaprasad said that although release of parallel cinema after subtitling it may look a good option but ``the real world is harsh.'' ``There are logistic problems associated with such releases,'' he added.

Though the filmmaker is trying his luck at major metros, he said that it is not worth trying for such released in tier II and tier III cities outside the home state were audiences may not give the response. ``There is very less demand for alternate films in such cities,'' Shyamaprasad said.
