Bengaluru: Four persons held for trying to drain CM's relief fund

Bengaluru, Aug 5: Police from criminal investigation department (CID) have arrested four persons on the allegation of trying to drain Rs 3.39 crore from Chief Minister's Relief Fund by claiming medical expenses reimbursement, claims of which are backed by fake bills. They are Amoghappa from Kalaburagi, M K Kiran from Tumakuru, and C M Nagaraj Shetty and Shankar from Mandya district.

A case had been registered in Vidhan Soudha police station, alleging that fake applications had been received by the office of CM's relief fund in the names of various beneficiaries from different districts during the year 2015. For the investigation to progress well, it was handed over to CID. The CID found that fake bills totalling to Rs 3.39 crore were submitted in the names of different hospitals from the state and elsewhere in 54 cases.

It is said that the accused had created fake medical bills and discharge papers in the names of various multi speciality hospitals in the city with the specific objective of pocketing money by claiming money from CM's relief fund.

    Well at least they managed to drain the chief minister's relief fund !! No one has ever managed to drain Bangalore's roads after a good rain !!

    These people are curse to the society. Voters should eliminate them in the next election.Never know how much gone in to their pockets last so many years including health ministry. These shameless people know it will take ages for CBI to do investigation and put them behind bars because of political influence.
    Poor lady came to CM office for financial assistance and she has driven out like a beggar. Her curse is enough to destroy these corrupt people.
