Udupi, Sep 30: The Vande Bharat Express operating between Mangaluru and Madgaon has been extended up to Bengaluru. Union Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Kota Srinivas Poojary about the decision through a letter.
MP Kota Srinivas Poojary had written to the Union minister on November 12, 2025, June 6, 2026, and August 10, 2026, requesting the introduction of a new Vande Bharat Express between Bengaluru and Mangaluru-Madgaon.
Responding to the request, the minister stated that the existing Vande Bharat Express operating between Madgaon and Mangaluru has been extended up to Bengaluru via Udupi, Kundapur and Karwar.
The train will henceforth operate under the name 26655/26656 Yeshwantpur-Mangaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express with a revised timetable, the letter stated.
