Mysterious explosion followed by fire noticed in League leader's home

Kasargod, Aug 5: An explosion occurred, followed by citing of fire in the house of a leader of Muslim League here on Thursday August 4 morning. Luckily, the explosion did not result in any disastrous result.

The house where the above incident occurred belongs to K K Abdulla Kunhi, resident of Bambrana Kukkulakunnu, former district secretary of Muslim League. After an explosion occurred in the kitchen of the house, wife of Abdulla Kunhi, Rukhiya and daughter, Rahila, rushed there and saw that a big fire was raging. The locals then rushed to the spot and helped them in dousing the fire.

Reportedly, the kitchen did not have any electrical equipment and there was no fire or cinders in the hearth there, the family members asserted. It is not clear how the explosion and fire happened inside the kitchen.

Kumble police sub-inspector, Somayya, district superintendent of police, Thomson Jose and deputy superintendent of police visited the spot, gathered information and questioned a few.
