Mangaluru, Aug 5: Tulu movie lovers queued up in big numbers on Friday August 5 as the much-awaited Tulu movie 'Dabak Dabaa Aisa', produced and directed by Prakash Pandeshwar under the banner of 'Jayakirana Films', hit screens across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
Producer of Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam movies, K Manju inaugurated the formal ceremony at Suchithra theatre here.
Addressing the gathering, K Manju said, "I have watched the premier show of 'Dabak Dabaa Aisa', and I must say it has come out very nicely. The first half is full of comedy and the second half is more about the storyline. Prakash Pandeshwar does any work neatly and it reflects in this movie. I have told him that I will also produce a Tulu movie with him.
"Usually Tulu movies were in the form of drama but this film has been done perfectly in the style of a quality movie. Some people do piracy for small amounts of money, but they do not know how difficult it is for a producer to make a movie. Hence, I urge everyone to watch the movie in theatres. The real feel of any movie with sound effects and quality can only be enjoyed in theatres. I wish this movie becomes a superhit."
Lion Kishore D Shetty, president of Tulu Drama Association said, "Over the past one year Tulu industry has been hit badly because of some mediocre movies. I think now, after the release of this movie, the Tulu industry will see progress again. I wish all success to this movie."
Managing director of In-Land Builders Siraj Ahmed said, "I wish this movie becomes a superhit. The producer or the team should not worry about the piracy. We should all watch this movie in theatres and support this movie. I wish all success to all the artistes and technicians who have worked in this movie."
Veteran actor Devdas Kapikad said, "Prakash Pandeshwar is an inspiration to all of us. The movie has come out so well that one cannot say this is his first direction. Journalists who have watched the premiere show have given a big thumbs-up and written a positive review. Navin D Padil has done excellent work. Rajesh M has given very good music. I am sure that this movie brings laurels to Tulu cinema and language."
Producer Prakash Pandeshwar, lead actor Navin D Padil, lead actress Sheethal Nayak, president of Tulu Film Association K Shrinivas, chief of Mangaluru PVR Hemanth, Devdas Pandeshwar, Shashiraj Shetty and others were present.
