Bengaluru, Aug 6: Chikkamagaluru deputy superintendent of police (DySP), Kallappa Handibag, had called his close friend, Lakshmi Ganesh, who happens to be the DySP of Magadi subdivision, when the allegation of abduction surfaced all of a sudden against the former. Kallappa Handibag
CID, the evidence before which suggests that Kallappa Handibag had no role in either the abduction or collection of ransom, feels that the statement recorded by Magadi DySP will go a long way in strengthening the above notion. Lakshmi Ganesh confirmed that at the instance of officials of the department, he had visited CID central office and recorded his statement.
It is gathered that Kallappa and Lakshmi Ganesh were chosen for the department through KPSC examination lheld in 2009. Both of them underwent training together and stayed in the same room during this period. Kallappa, who was very sensitive, continued to be a cllose friend of Lakshmi Ganesh till the end, as per the statement recorded by the latter CID sources revealed.
