Karkala, Aug 10: In an incident which occurred at Hebri near here on Tuesday August 9, a student ended his life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan.

Vidwath (16), a second PU student from a private college here, killed himself in this manner. He was a native of Chikkamagaluru.

At around 8.30 pm on Tuesday, he made a noose out of a cloth and hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his hostel room. He also left behind a letter addressed to his mother, which said,"Mom, I miss you. I am coming to you."

Hebri police have registered a case. They have begun investigation.
