Mysuru, Aug 11: Through an order issued on Wednesday August 10, the state government transferred deputy commissioner (DC) of the district, C Shikha.
Shikha had recently hogged the limelight after withstanding pressure and registering a complaint against Congress leader, former zilla panchayat president, and close confidante of chief minister, Siddaramaiah, K Marigowda, alleging that he had publicly insulted her and obstructed her from discharging her duties.
Marigowda had gone underground after the incident, but as courts including the high court refused to grant him bail, he had surrendered in the police station. He continues to be in judicial custody, and has been expelled from Congress.
Shikha has been given the post of commissioner of social welfare. Her husband, Dr M N Ajay Nagbhushan, who was the deputy commissioner of Mandya district, has been made commissioner of food and civil supplies department at Bengaluru. Vijayapura district deputy commissioner, D Randeep, has been transferred to Mysuru in Shikha's place.
Shikha had functioned as DC of Mysuru, home district of the chief minister, for three years, which happens to be a long tenure, considering that IAS officers are normally transferred within one to two years.
