Udupi, Aug 16: Town Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha members organized ‘Yuva Vaibhava- 2016’ as a part of the 70th Independence Day under the aegis of district BJP unit, at Sheshashayana hall, Kediyur on Monday, August 15.
Speaking on the occasion, Udupi-Chikkamagluru MP Shobha Karandlaje said, “Due to the struggle of our ancestors, we have got freedom. PM Modi desires to celebrate the 70th Independence Day in all villages with grandeur and not only in schools. Thus BJP organized bike rally for a week to propagate freedom movement remembering the contributions of our brave leaders. The programme will help youngsters to know the struggles of freedom fighter.”
“We should reflect our achievements of 70 years as independent nation and take steps to improve further. We have got democracy but not democratic benefits. Gandhijis dream has not been fulfilled till date. The cases of women harassment are increasing today.”
“Indian battalions are struggling every day to protect our nation and maintain peace. Their situation is pathetic and they eat bread and toast to live. Anti-national activities are on the rise which could be seen in the JNU issue. India has become a safe haven for anti nationals. No one speaks against nation but sadly it happens only in India,” she criticised.
Describing the incident of students shouting anti national slogans in a college in Bengaluru she said, “Police did not arrest any students on this case nor any legal action was taken. Culprits should be punished severely.”
“Indians should have unity, integrity and aspire to protect nation. No one should politicize in matters concerning the integrity of nation. Anti-nationals should get severe punishment,” she demanded.
“Nearly 85% of weapons and gun powder are imported from other countries. It really pains me. The current union government released crores for emergency funds for defence purpose.”
“Complete India remains only in map today and not in reality. A part of Kashmir has become Pak-occupied Kashmir and then some part has been captured by China. Kashmir is becoming a centre for all terror activities. Pakistan, China and other neighbouring countries are trying to occupy Indian border. Every Indian should hate anti-nationals. We should unite to regain the occupied mother land at any cost. We need to strengthen our army by respecting their task, build courage and confidence among them,” she added.
An intercollegiate talent show competition was held on the occasion.
A bike rally was held to mark the Independence Day which commenced from Hejamadi.
