Bengaluru, Aug 17: A medical student drowned in the swimming pool of the Country Club at Hebbal here on Monday August 15.
Shashank (21), who hails from Kalaburagi, was pursuing his MBBS degree course at Hubballi. To spend holidays, he had come to the house of relatives in the city. He had gone to Country Club along with his relatives on Monday when tragedy struck, policemen said.
Shashank and his relatives were swimming in the pool. After sometime, his relatives came out of the pool. They saw that Shashank, who did not know how to swim,l was struggling to breath. His uncle immediately brought him out of the pool and admitted him into a nearby hospital. Later, for providing better treatment, he was being taken to a private hospital at Bagalur, when Shashank breathed his last, as per a complaint filed in Bagalur police station here.
Bagalur police have taken up investigation.
