Bantwal, Aug 18: A man sexually exploited a young girl, who happens ot his close relative, at Alike village in the taluk on Wednesday August 17. He was arrested on the same day.
Balakrishna Naik alias Keshava (31), resident of Kallenchipade in Alike happens to be the arrested accused. He has been accused of leading a nine-year-old girl to his home and forcing her to suffer sexual harassment inflicted by him.
A case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act stands registered about this incident in Vittal police station. After the incident, the accused had absconded. Vittal station police sub-inspector, Prakash Devadiga and his team succeeded in finding him out from his hideout at Ukkuda. On being produced in court, Keshava was remanded to judicial custody.
