Two killed in car bomb explosion in Turkey


Ankara, Aug 18 (IANS): At least two people killed and 100 injured in a car bomb explosion in Turkey's Elazig province on Thursday.

The bombing, blamed on the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party, hit the neighbourhood near Elazig Police Department at 9.20 a.m., Xinhua news agency reported.

Locals also reportedly heard gunshots afterward.

Early footage from the scene showed smoke rising from the area while several buildings in the area were seen to be damaged.
