First BE batch orientation for A J Institute of Engineering and Technology held

Mangaluru, Aug 20: The inauguration of the first BE batch course was held on the campus of A J Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kodikal Cross, Kottara Chowki, here on August 18.


Dr Udaykumar Yaragatti, dean of student’s welfare, NITK, Surathkal was the chief guest for the function. President of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust in the city, Dr A J Shetty presided over the function. Vice president of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust, Prashanth Shetty and Dr Prashanth Marla, director of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust were also present. A J Institute of Engineering and Technology, principal, Dr Shantharam Rai welcomed the gathering. Departmental HOD’s Dr Rajesh Rai, HOD mechanical engineering, Dr Antony P J, HOD computer science and engineering, prof Raghavendra Shetty, HOD E&C, Dr Kishore Shetty, HOD engineering chemistry and Dr Sujaya, HOD physics presented respectively academic rules and regulations, student discipline and antiragging, general amenities, extra- curricular activities and placement and training information.

The chief guest in his address shared his experiences and views regarding technological importance in human life and values to be adopted by the students towards their academic excellence.

In his presidential address, Dr A J Shetty briefed about the infrastructural facilities available and the mode of support in order to get the best outcome and shared his great vision of bringing up A J Institute of Engineering and Technology as the best engineering college in the city.

Finally Dr Shantha Kumari, HOD maths presented the vote of thanks.

Sheela Monteiro, training and placement officer was the master of ceremony.
