Beltangady: Student falls into canal, loses life

Beltangady, Aug 23: Satish (19), son of Rajappa Gowda, resident of Ambiya House in Belalu village lost his life after he fell into a canal near the house of his grandmother in Bandaru village in the taluk on Sunday August 21.

The incident occurred when Satish was on a visit of his grandmother. Satish had completed his SSLC by staying with his grandmother. He had joined automobile mechanical course in the industrial training institute located near SVT college in the city. He was in the first year of the course.

Satish used to attend classes from his home. Sunday being holiday, he had visited his grandmother at Bandaru village. He slipped and fell into the canal that was in full flow, when crossing the wooden foot-bridge laid across the canal. Although the accident took place on Sunday afternoon, it came to light only in the evening. Someone who was passing by the site of the accident in the evening saw the body of the youth and conveyed information to the family.
