Kasargod: Thefts in broad daylight - accused arrested

Kasargod Aug 24: Police personnel from Kumble station have succeeded in arresting a person who has been accused of breaking into two houses located within Kumble police station limits in broad daylight, and stealing cash and gold ornaments.

He was arrested by Kumble police team led by sub-inspector, Belwin Jose and additional sub-inspector, Somayya.

The arrested accused has been identified as Nawaz (32), resident of Badiyadka Nellikatte. He has been arrested in connection with the theft of one sovereign of gold and Rs 4,000 in cash from the house of Hemalatha of Kattathadka and stealing of a two sovereign gold chain and Rs 4,500 in cash from the house of Abdulla from Kalathur.

In both the above cases, Nawaz had broken open the locks of the houses. He confessed to the police about having sold the chain stolen from Abdulla's house at Vayanad. The police said that the arrested person faces over 15 cases of theft registered at Badiyadka, Kasargod, and Chandera stations.
