Ghaziabad, Aug 24 (IANS): One more man has been arrested here for the murderous attack on BJP leader Brijpal Teotia, taking the total number of arrests to seven, police said on Wednesday.
Babbal alias Jaginder is a resident of Naraina in Delhi. Teotia was shot and wounded on August 11 in Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh.
Four accused were arrested on August 17 and two more on August 19. Babbal is said to be one of the main conspirators in the attack.
Ghaziabad Senior Superintendent of Police K.S. Emmanuel said a Special Task Force nabbed him from the New Ghaziabad railway station.
Babbal reportedly confessed that he fired five rounds at the Bharatiya Janata Party leader from a pistol which the police recovered from him.
Twenty teams were set up to nab the criminals. Some teams are still away in other states to nab more suspects.
