i think we should remove this no of medals from our minds and rather concentrate on building healthy people. Sports is a natural progression from here. we can think of medals later on. India has the highest number of malnourished children in the world. our cities are pollutted there is no clean drinking water and air. Average Indian looks unhealthy. many carry bulging stomacks, bow shaped legs, buttocks are flat and inward. therefore i suggest money be spent wisely and on health. there should be awareness on the type of food that we have to consume. we may have to change our eating habits. The genetic factor also needs a through research. it is not without some reason that Jamaicans are fastest runners and kenyans and nigerians have lot of stamina and good long distance runners, America has produced outstanding swimmers.

    Dear Readers,

I wish to alter my comments...

Narendra Modiji is a competent leader who has the welfare of this country at heart.

Sushmaji is a great lady. She has the welfare of all citizens at hear.

But as long as certain outfits like RSS, Sangh Parivar, ABVP are allowed free reign, then progress is just a dream.

They will hamper the work of good leaders like Modiji, Sushmaji.

Hats off to Modiji to give encouragement to Olympics sport which no other leader as thought before.

Nobody has detracted him from keeping any of his promises he has made so far which are yet to take wings even after nearly 30 months....!!! One who has clear mandate given by the voters, has made voters to keep reminding him on what he has promised.
Only improvement he has done is, giving more bashanas not only in India but outside of it too.
So far he\his Cabinet has been after only cows and their rakshaks to continue attacking innocents people every where and making weird remarks. So much public money is spent on these useless goondas for this useless "rakshak" work.
He preaches many things but acts differently behind the scenes.
Have you noticed the people crying out as the prices of every essential commodity soaring day by day? Hope you are eating, dressing up and moving around in vehicle to notice all that. Even when the oil prices have plummeted, people are paying more than when oil prices were four times more!!!
That is why his supporters are nick named as "Andh Bhakts" and he is leading them like the "Pied Piper"!!!.

We have heard so many such announcements but very little or no progress happening on the ground.

Now Olympics Task Force ??? Real good joke.

Our main problem we keep much hope on good players and started to calculate colors of medals. Most of the time these people disappoint us much. No body kept hope on sindhu..by which she played good game towards japanese gal..gaya toh gaya..aaya toh aaya. Not pressure on her much on that time. Latter on media and people forced her to obtain gold. By which her second round failed totally. Spanish gal didn't had any pressure. Same thing happening earlier with sachin. Will inform in advance in all medias..iss baar sure century hai. People startef to bet against him..and he come out with flying colors without opening any score. Don't give more importance after winning..let them prepare for next. Same thing happen with earlier gold medalist..not able to do good in any of them. Please stop publicity..and it will destroy player's game. Saina Nehwal failed. Sindhu won. Still celebration going on.

When I was watching some news channels I saw almost all channels reporters reached as far as Dipa's home in Manipur and asking the parents "HOW DO YOU FEEL,WILL SHE GET GOLD" same moment I told my family that because of these IDIOTS Dipa lost (any) medal. For 1.5 seconds poor girl lost. First Government has to ban local channels taking interview from the parents and participating athletes until the game finish.

His wife traveling in rickshaw. It's what we should learn. Live simply..as nothing we are going to take with us at the end. If possible try to live for other's and not for own. Incidentally, Mahindras had offered a fully indigenous, custom made, top end vehicle that would have all the security/safety measured as that of the BMW, to the newly elected PM, but the PM of ‘Make in India’ fame turned it down and settled for imported BMW!

Reason behind our prime minister is counted as a gem one amongst hundred crore people. That's the reason to preserve gem we need to give all time security..it's after all in the interest of nation. One thousand million people (excluding four hundered million) are appreciated much work of present prime minister and need to be continued upto 2030. People from all over the world now even confused a lot due to rising economy of our nation. Always there is a threat for good people from all over..either from internal or external. We need more of sophisticated weapons to guard our prime minister as like seen in start trek. Hope you understand the most..as people wants to invest much on our prime minister.Hope you understand the most.

Decent number of Olympics medals will not only enhance our country's honour, but also make us happy, healthy and fitness conscious.
Presently our people are hyper active only in Politics.
PM Modi's efforts for Swatch Bharat, bringing uniformity in our tax laws like GST, (off course he only prevented it earlier) Model Shops & Estt Act across the nation are all praise worthy moves.
In the same spirit, he should strive to upgrade our judiciary for speedy justice delivery system.

In china and other countries childrens are given training from the age of four itself. For which need lot of practice and good trainer. When we see small small babies from china or japan perform on stage we feel much proud. Let us start build our people from now onwards and introduce all types of games compulsory in schools/colleges giving extra bonus marks to encourage the same. More on focus on sports now and then and give good perks to trainer as well as to sports persons. No need only once after winning all gifts after winning medals. Choose correct capability people even from villages..who do better than others. Hope after twenty years India will be in a good position. Also encourage Football and Hockey.

But some hungry for not getting job should be first fed and given job. Shouldn't feed free! It will encourage lazy. God also doesn't feed us free.
Simultaneously, talents should be encouraged, they will bring glory and riches to the nation.

Very thoughtful decision. India must be in medal list at Olympics with few more medals next time!

Coastal India: which stretches from West Bengal to Gujarat is long. The millions of brave fishermen who work in the sea are excellent swimmers, may be training this type of younger population who are used to swimming in deep water may be helpful to achieve few medals in swimming the talented country-village inhabitants who walk, run on hills may contribute to track and fields etc. etc...

Politician guessed candidates, and their wish list of probable candidates must be stopped and talented Indians need to be trained...

Only two things can change the Olympic Medals scenario, in India.
One is Sponsorships by companies to budding athletes and the other is minimisation of corruption in Sports politics.
There is possibility of the first scenario if the companies start promoting athletes than cricket.
Second scenario is far distant dream until next two generations.

Best thing to do is to get experienced trainers from countries like Europe and America whose Athletes are winning medals without doping. Build proper training facilities in all major towns and cities. Britain spent £88000 on each athlete to get the Olympic standard. We are bound to have good athletes who can get a medal with proper training. Keep all politicians and corrupt people away from sports.
