Mangaluru: Inspection of school vehicles in DK from Aug 27

Mangaluru, Aug 27: Dakshina Kannada district police, RTO, department of public instruction and the department of revenue in a joint operation will start inspecting school vehicles from August 27 considering safety of school children.

Initially all the school vehicles in Puttur and Bantwal taluk will be inspected. The school managements in Puttur have been asked to bring their school vehicles and those hired by them to Thenkila Vivekananda school grounds, Puttur on August 27 at 3 pm.

All school vehicles and those on hire in Bantwal taluk are to be brought to Modankapu Infant Jesus school ground on August 28 at 10 am.

The vehicle owners have been asked to produce all the necessary records including driver license during the inspection.

    Absolutely waste of time and eye wash. Do u think anybody will bring their vehicles with defaults n invalid documents when announced in advance? Its like thief announcing his robbery plan.

    great move. how about restriction on no. of passengers travelling on a bus? many students travel dangerously in over crowded buses hanging along the foot board.

    It's like robbers announcing that we are coming to rob you. Why the heck they should announce. A driver is supposed to carry license and documents all times. Make license and registration card compulsory . Lack of knowledge on people is not a reason. Govt has to announce these things as a mandatory while you own something. We live in 21 st century but acts like 18th.

    Sometimes I just want to paint the words, IT IS THE PARENTS FAULT FOR SENDING THEIR KIDS TO SCHOOL IN SUCH TYPE OF DANGEROUS MODE OF TRANSPORT...And then sit and cry.

    Our true crisis is not economic, it is the parent’s failure to recognize the mistakes these drivers make and parents should learn from past experience. How many more kids should die by these speeding and careless drivers? Good questions lead to good outcomes. Bad questions lead to bad outcomes...
