Media Release

Dr Praveen Kumar Rai, orthopedic surgeon, Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, Essex, England was the resource person. In his presentation, he said, "Calcium and vitamin D play a crucial role in determining bone health of an individual. The lifestyles and food preferences of the people result in low levels of calcium intake which again cause adverse influence on bone health. Women start with lower bone density than their male peers and lose bone mass more quickly as they age, which leads to osteoporosis in some women."

The principal, Fr Vijay Lobo delivered his presidential address. Amitha and Akshaya performed the prayer. Shwethal welcomed the gathering. Sahana proposed the vote of thanks. Venisha compered the programme. The convener of Women Empowerment Cell Sathyalatha Rai coordinated the programme.
