Bhaskar case- All accused in judicial custody now, DNA samples collected

Udupi, Aug 31: With two accused being remanded to judicial custody on Wednesday, August 31, all the accused now are in judicial custody relating to the murder of Bhaskar Shetty.

Srinivas Bhat (56) and Raghavendra (25), who have been accused of destroying evidence, were in CID custody till now. The court gave them judicial custody till September 6.

Niranjan Bhat

Main accused Rajeshwari (48), the wife of Bhaskar Shetty, her son Navaneet Shetty (20), and astrologer Niranjan Bhat (26), are already in judicial custody which will also end on September 6.

Judge instructed the prosecution to provide necessary medical attention to Srinivas Bhat who is suffering from a heart ailment. 

As the bail application for Srinivas Bhat and Raghavendra stands rejected by the court here in the earlier hearing, it is believed that the advocates representing them will move the application in higher court soon. 

Blood samples of family members collected

Gulabi Shetty and Suresh Shetty, mother and brother of Bhaskar Shetty respectively, gave blood samples and they were handed over to CID in the court on Wednesday, August 31.

The blood samples will be compared with the remains of Bhaskar Shetty in DNA test. It is not yet known with what remains of Bhaskar Shetty it will be matched as CID is light lipped over the evidence they have collected.

The court had made the decision on DNA test on August 21.

    If the case had been handed over to CBI, by this time, lot of strong evidential proof would have been openedup. Their powerful 'treatment' will come out with proofs.... But I wonder whether these CID is smart enough.. However, accused faces if we see, looks like CID has not broke through any major evidence so far. All the convicts should get Death Penalty, so that such an heinous brutality should not happen again at least in a peaceful TuluNadhu....

    I think this Special case is interesting almost whole Nation.By the way DNA can be obtained not only from his blood,but from his hair if any found in his room ,so why search for his rest left back.see if any hair in his comb in room,bed so.Please leave out the Bhats father who is sick.

    What is the use of his hair ? His hair sample can not prove his death. Police wants proof for his death and samples from his dead body for DNA analysis.

    @Anand,Surathkal,even a DNA Analyse can be done from hair where no other possibility of getting his blood or bones.cause of death can be later investigated if any Body found.

    bhaskars blood is crying for justice, lawyers, please dont run after money and get cursed not only you, your family, and your future generations as well!!!think, why some are handicapped, mentally challenged, thats because of tears of people.
