Kolkata, Sep 17 : The Kanara Catholic Association of West Bengal,Kolkata chapter celebrated the Monti Saibin Feast on the 11th of September 2016 at Church of Christ the King, Park Circus.
Though over the years the Manglorean Catholics have dwindled remarkably, the feast was celebrated with devotion and fervour by all gathered. Our Lady was taken in a procession and flowers were showered on our Blessed Mother , with the melodious singing of the hymn Sakkad Sangatha Melya.
We were privileged to have four of our prominent priests celebrating the Mass - Fr. Gregory Monteiro, Fr Cyprian Joy, Fr Henry Saldanah and our young priest Fr. Naveen Taoro.
In a touching homily by Fr. Cyprian , he explained to all gathered the feast celebrated in Managlore during his young days. Mother Mary is a mother to all of us and we must always keep her in our hearts. We must always honour her as she is our powerful intercessor.

The choir formed by Prethi Machado and Hilary Sanctis and Sr Christine along with the beautiful music from Francis & Cynthia Beck enriched the mass. Fr Henry Saldana blessed the sugarcane and gave to all the people gathered.
Few games were played and food was served. We thank all the religious and the people who had come from far to attend this beautiful celebration. Lunch included the traditional channa and vorn.
Kca thanks the committee members: Mark Pinto -President, Donna Dsouza-Vice President, Hilary Sanctis-Treasurer June Coelho- Secretary and committee members Oscar Currie, Miriam Mukherjee,Pradeep Prabhu, Dominic Arokianathan and Philo Patrao.
