Interstate arms supplier held by Delhi Police


New Delhi, Sep 20 (IANS): An interstate arms supplier carrying a bounty of Rs 50,000 was arrested by Delhi Police from Madhya Pradesh, a police official said on Monday.

Gurubakhat Singh, 30, was arrested on Sunday by Delhi Police's Special Cell from a bus stand near his home town in Madhya Pradesh on a tip-off, a police official said.

Declared a proclaimed offender on in 2014 by a Delhi court, Singh used to supply country-made arms to his contacts in the capital and the National Capital Region (NCR), said the official, adding his arrest came with the help of inputs from another arms supplier Manoj Kumar, who was arrested recently.

Investigators said that Singh learnt the manufacturing of illegal firearms from his father and had been supplying illegal arms since 2001.
