Five coaches of Doon Express derail in UP, no casualties

Lucknow, Sep 20 (IANS): Five coaches of the Doon Express derailed in Uttar Pradesh's Faizabad on Tuesday afternoon, said railway officials. No casualties were reported so far.

However, the accident brought the crucial Gorakhpur route to a grinding halt due to which many trains are stuck at different places.

A Northern Railway official told IANS that the train was going from Dehradun to Howrah when the coaches suddenly started tilting one way and five were derailed. No injuries have been reported as at the time of the incident, the train was at a slow speed.

The derailed coaches include two general and three sleeper compartments.

Many trains including the 19709 Jaipur-Kamakhyaa Express have been stopped at the Lucknow railway station and many other trains are being diverted.
