Mumbai, Dec 19 (mb): Singer Udit Narayan was on Tuesday booked for allegedly assaulting a music director inside a recording studio here during a scuffle.

Vishnu Narayan registered a case with the Versova police station alleging that he was assaulted by Udit following a heated argument inside the studio in MHADA colony on Tuesday evening, police said.

Vishnu, who composed music for lesser-known film Chand Ke Paar Chalo, had booked the studio for his new music album after confirming Udit's dates. But the playback singer allegedly reached late to the studio due to which the music director had to bear more expenses as hiring charges.

Police said the two got into a verbal argument after Udit showed up around 5 pm and a scuffle ensued.

Udit had not yet approached them with any complaint, police said.
