Kejriwal defends Jain, calls it a conspiracy

New Delhi, Sep 27 (IANS): Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday defended his minister Satyender Jain who has been accused of money laundering, deeming the allegations a "conspiracy".

"I summoned Satyender this morning. Saw all papers. He is innocent, being framed. If he were guilty, we would have thrown him out. We stand by him," Kejriwal said in a tweet.

Jain holds six portfolios in the Kejriwal government, including health. He was summoned by the Income Tax Department for questioning on Wednesday in matters pertaining to companies in he which was an invester.

Jain maintained, speaking to media, that he had nothing to do with the companies since 2011 when he entered politics.

He also dared media channels to air the news of an expose which the Chief Minister was going to make soon.

"False cases against AAP MLAs and ministers, FIR against me, CBI raid on me - why? A very big conspiracy. Will expose in Delhi Assembly on Friday," Kejriwal said in a tweet.
