Kundapur, Sep 28: During the special session of Molahalli gram pcnahayat (GP) in the taluk on Tuesday September 28 afternoon, there was a heated discussion on the issue of distribution of house sites under government schemes. As disagreements remained unresolved even after discussions, some members got enraged. Two factions then resorted physical attack in which the president and vice president, who suffered injuries, were admitted into hospitals.
The meeting was convened to discuss distribution of 12 houses sanctioned to the gram panchayat under the government's housing scheme. During the session, argument arose between the president and a member which hotted up in course of time. Other members joined the discussions on both the sides, resulting in jostling of each other and fistfight.
President of the GP, Udaya Kulal, and vice president, Vani Shetty, got admitted into separate private hospitals for treatment of injuries reportedly suffered by them. Two separate cases were registered in Kota police station. Sub-inspector, Kabbalraj, has undertaken investigation.
