Mangaluru, Sep 28: The inaugural ceremony of the two day national computer applications fest of St Joseph's Engineering College, Joshiana 7.0 got inaugurated at the college premises on Wednesday September 28.
The director (software quality assurance) of Robosoft Technologies, Udupi, Dr Srinivas Rao inaugurated the programme and unveiled the trophies.
Speaking on the occasion he said, "Engineering students today lack process oriented skills. They are aware of technology but fail to make use of the various application platforms for these skills. This is something every student must focus on. I am very much happy looking at the environment here. I wish all the students good luck."
The principal of the college Dr Joseph Gonsalves, speaking on the occasion said, "Today technology is like food which is ready to be prepared. The maker must not think about his taste and liking but instead think about the liking of the receiver."
"Our MCA department is doing their best in transforming students, hence wherever students go they make their college proud," he said appreciating the staff.
The president of the programme and director of the college Fr Joseph Lobo said, "As Dr Abdul Kalam said when you become a good human being you become a good person and contribute to the development of the place you work. Each one of us is unique and special. We own the possibilities where we can reach. Do not lose focus of the present."
HOD (in-charge) of MCA, Sumangala N welcomed everyone, while Vinaya s, treasurer of Technocrats, rendered the vote of thanks. Surabhi Shetty compered the programme.
Assistant director, Fr Rohith D'Costa, vice principal Dr Rio D'Souza, convenors Bikramjit Athokpam, Sadhana Kumble and others were present at the occasion.
