Udupi, Sep 29: “There is no mention of protection of cattle in the Indian constitution. But the cattle protection groups are conducting oppression, violence and murders for political gain,” said Shafique Bellare, the state secretary of Popular Front of India (PFI).
He was addressing 'stop hateful politics campaign' held by PFI at Durga International Hotel auditorium here on Wednesday, September 28.
Beef export
“The choice of food is left to the individuals. However, Sangh Parivar and BJP for political benefit say that cow is holy and equal to three crore deities. If they have such revered feeling towards the cow, let them first stop the export of beef. When Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister of the country, India stood second in export of beef. It secured first place after Modi became the prime minister,” he added.
Anti-incumbency
"Modi did not become prime minister because of BJP’s theory. People have voted for BJP due to Congress’ anti-people policies believing in Modi’s assurance that 'good days' will come. The votes were not for promises of Rama Mandira or protection of cows,” he said.
Fake protectors
"Modi has said that there are fake protectors of cows. Who are the genuine protectors of cows, is the question. There is a protection force for the protection of cows but none for the people. Such political hatred gives rise to communal unrest. BJP is requesting for votes in the name of protection of cows, Rama Mandir and religion. There is nothing worth mentioning about the contributions or campaigns of BJP or Sangh Parivar for the country,” he concluded. .
SDPI organization Udupi district secretary Abdul Rehman Malpe, lecturer Alwyn Rodrigues and others were present at the campaign.
