Mangalore, Dec 23: In a true spirit of inclusiveness and communal harmony, the members of St Christopher Association celebrated Christmas at Balikashram, run by Eshwarananda Mahila Sevashram, located at Kankanady here on Sunday, December 23.

Well-known Kannada and Tulu writer and former president of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy Dr Vaman Nandavar inaugurated the programme and graced the occasion. Fr Denis D’Sa, administrator of Father Muller Medical college, presided over the function.

Addressing in particular the children who were present, Fr D'Sa said that during Christmas all present should pose a question to oneself, as to whether or not he is internally poor.

Further, he called upon all to see God in the downtrodden and the poor. Fr Denis D’Sa also entertained the children by singing Christmas carols. B A Moideen, former minister, also spoke on the occasion.
 
Sushil Noronha, president of St Christopher Association, Victor Menezes, secretary of the Association and Sharad S Pandit, secretary of Mahila Ashram were present on the occasion.

Besides, the members of St Christopher Association distributed sweets and lunch to the children. In return, the Balikashram students entertained them with songs and dances.
