Mangaluru, Oct 3: Dakshina Kannada police have managed to solve the murder mystery of Ismail Nelyamajalu who was murdered brutally on September 23 at Aivarnadu near Sullia.
Three teams were constituted under assistant police superintendent Rishyanth to solve the murder mystery. The teams after days of investigations managed to apprehend three suspects, revealed Gulabrao Bhushan Borase the superintendent of police (SP) in city in a press meet on Monday, October 3.
Abdul Rasheed alias Munna (32) from Ammunje in Bantwal and Ibnu Abbas (32) from Krishnapura Suratkal are the two arrested at Mattu Cross in Udupi and Umar Farooq A K (32) from Kedila who is said to be the mastermind of the murder was arrested in Kabaka in Puttur on Sunday, October 2, said SP.
Ritz car bearing number KA 19 MB 3068 which was used to carry out murder was also seized by the police.
It is said that there was an enmity between Rahiman Bellare and Ismail Nelyamajalu as the latter supported the Zakharia Juma Masjid with whom Rahiman Bellare had a property dispute. Yakub Bejai who was a friend of Ismail Nelyamajalu later turned foe concerning some deal with the same property, SP added.
Rahiman Bellare and Yakub Bejai came together to settle score with common enemy Ismail Nelyamajalu, engaged Umar Farooq, offered money and paid advance in Mangaluru. Umar Farooq with other accomplices made many attempts on the life of Ismail, but failed repeatedly. On September 23, they followed Ismail and killed him brutally with weapons near Aivarnadu mosque, SP explained.
Rahiman Bellare, Yakub Bejai, Farooq Bellare and Sohail Nandavara are already in police custody relating to the murder and investigations are going on, SP said.
All the police personnel who worked to crack this case will be rewarded by the police department, said SP.
